Astrophysics graduate students have nominally the same course requirements as other graduate students in the FSU physics department. After the first year physics core, astrophysics options have been added to the specialization courses to be taken in years 2-3. Graduate students without a background in astronomy or astrophysics at the undergraduate level may need to take or `sit in on' the undergraduate astrophysics courses to fill in the gaps in their astrophysics background.
